urban Design of New Pujiang Centre
2021年7月，由浦江镇人民政府和闵行区规划和自然资源局一起启动的“新浦江中心”城市设计国际方案征集，近日落下帷幕。BDP携手上海江欢成建筑设计有限公司（JAE）赢得了该国际方案设计竞赛第一名。
In July 2021, the international competition for the urban design of the "New Pujiang Centre", launched by the People's Government of Pujiang Town and the Minhang District Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, recently came to an end. BDP and JAE Won the NO.1 in this international Design Competition.
“新浦江中心”是闵行2035总规明确的浦江地区级中心，通过闵东工业园区的转型升级，集聚高端服务，强化创新功能，打造独具特色的公共服务和活动中心。“新浦江中心”城市设计重点研究范围约20平方公里，城市设计范围约5.25平方公里，致力于打造成产城融合的新地标。
The "New Pujiang Centre" is a district-level center specified in the Minhang 2035 Master Plan. Through the transformation and upgrading of Mindong Industrial Park, it will gather high-end services, strengthen innovative functions, and create a unique public service and activity center. The key research area of the "New Pujiang Centre" urban design is about 20 square kilometers, and the urban design area is about 5.25 square kilometers. It is committed to creating a new landmark of industry-city integration.

设计聚焦文明、发展、历史、自然，凝筑新的城市图景，布局新的产业蓝图，倾力打造宜居、宜业、宜游的闵东新市镇，打造一种全新生活模式。Design focuses on civilization, development, history, and nature, builds a new urban picture, lays out a new industrial blueprint, and strives to build a new town in Mindong that is livable, business-friendly, and travel-friendly, and creates a new life model. 同时，以三大板块，三大轴线为设计核心要素描绘多元文旅画卷，编织共享生态网络。传承“诗礼继世，耕读传家”的印象浦江的同时，翻开卓越新城的新篇章。
At the same time, the three major areas and three major axes are the core elements of the design to draw a picture of diversified cultural tourism and weave a shared ecological network. While inheriting the impression of "poetry and ritual inheritance, plowing and reading heirs" Pujiang, at the same time opened a new chapter of the excellent new city.

As the radiation area of Shanghai's central city and one of the five regional centres of Minhang, Pujiang Regional Centre has a unique platform location advantage; with Pudong leading the way and facing the entire Yangtze River Delta, Pujiang will link the two strategic sectors and become a key stop on the southern Shanghai development corridor.

沿袭闵东文创中心定位，以蓝绿环绕为基底，历史人文为内涵，产业更新为驱动，新浦江中心将衔接闵行与浦东新区，打造黄浦江沿岸崭新的生态交织、文化自信、产城融合能量聚集地。
Following the positioning of the Min Dong Cultural and Creative Centre, with blue and green surroundings as the base, history and humanity as the connotation, and industrial renewal as the driver, the new Pujiang Centre will connect Minhang and Pudong New Area, creating a new ecological interweaving, cultural confidence, and industrial-city integration energy gathering place along the Huangpu River.

OVERALL MASTERPLAN
总体规划方案
文脉联动：首先希望串联场地东西两侧的两大文化遗产，形成具有提炼文化内涵的时空历史轴线。Culture Connection: Firstly, we connect the two major cultural heritages on the east and west sides to form a historical timeline axis with refined cultural connotations.
姚家浜 & 沈杜公路：最大化利用姚家浜，使其作为重点区域，同时解决沈杜公路和姚家浜平行过近的问题。设计在考虑了各种可能性（上抬、下穿等）后，最终选择拉直沈杜公路，解决规划中沿河区域纵深不够的情况。如此便可充分保留场地内的空间关系的同时，避免破坏性地调整现状。Yaojiabang & Shendu Highway: Maximising the use of Yaojiabang as a focal area and solving the problem of the parallel proximity of Shendu Highway and Yaojiabang. After considering various possibilities (bridge, underground, etc.), the design finally chose to straighten the Shendu Highway to address the lack of depth along the river in the plan. In this way, the spatial relationships within the site can be fully preserved while avoiding destructive adjustments to the status quo.
中央湖区：在姚家浜和牛肠泾的连接区域打造中央核心人工湖，以湖作为规划重心，串联四个方向。Central Lake: Create a central core artificial lake in the connecting area of Yaojiabang and Niuchangjing, with the lake as the center of planning, connecting four directions.
TOD & 塑造城市界面：以沈杜公路TOD为强点，不断拉近东侧与湖区的距离，进一步扩大TOD辐射，并形成城市高区界面。同时将8号线沈杜公路站作为复合型空间、视线、三维交通枢纽，串联浦星公路东西两侧、地上及地下空间，形成新浦江中心的门户板块。
TOD Frontage: Taking the TOD of Shendu Rd as a highlight, it will move eastward towards the central lake area and further expand the TOD radiation and form the interface of the urban high area. It will also build up the Shen Du Road Station of Line 8 as a composite spatial, sightline and three-dimensional transportation hub. It will link the east and west sides of the Puxing Highway, above and below ground, to form a gateway block to the new Pujiang centre.
中央湖区辐射：沿姚家浜和中央湖区以低密度商业、文化和体验式公共空间塑造低密度体验区，形成城市界面的高低对比和节奏变化。
Central Lake Area Radiation: The low-density commercial, cultural, and experiential public spaces along Yaojiabang and the Central Lake area are used to shape the lake-around area, forming the contrast and rhythm change of the urban interface.
唤醒与延伸：向北通过英业达地块向北辐射至产业升级区，以唤醒之势形成产业中轴；向南延伸排布体育、康养带。
Wake Up & Spread: It radiates northward through the Inventec land to the industrial upgrading zone, forming a trend of industrial awakening; extending the sports and health belts to the south.
串联与编织：以三条东西向空间轴线串联整个场地，并以牛肠泾将三条轴线联系在一起，在核心区进行“道路-蓝-绿”的编织。
Connecting & Weaving: The entire site is connected in series with three east-west spatial axes, and the three axes are connected together with Niuchangjing, and the "road-blue-green" weave is carried out in the core area.
重要空间和节点：通过轴线和空间辐射，布局其他的开发强点，形成次一级的区域影响力圈层。
Key spaces and nodes: Layout other strong points of development through axis and space radiation, forming a second-level regional influence circle.
PLANNING STRATEGIES设计理念
△ 总体规划结构Overall Planning Structure
核心区：规划通过对沈杜公路的连接，拓展了滨临姚家浜的城市公共活力区域边界。依托姚家浜生态河道，北向渗透，进一步界定了核心公共空间的区域独特性，同时也赋予公众享有更为多样的亲水互动体验。
Core Area: The Proposal Expands The Boundary Of The Urban Vibrant Public Realm Along Yaojiabang River By Re-Connecting Shendu Road. In addition, based on Yaojiabang river, permeating to the northward to further define the regional uniqueness of the key public space, and provides rich diversity and interactive experience to the users in the waterfront.
产业升级区：深度联动产业资源，加快向“五型经济”的转化与提升，优化轻生产的垂直空间布局，形成集约高效的开发单元，探索动态弹性的迭代更新，确保优质企业平稳过渡。
Industry Upgrading Zone: Deeply link industrial resources, accelerate the transformation and upgrade to the "five-type economy", optimize the vertical spatial layout of light production, form an intensive and efficient development unit, explore dynamic and flexible iterative updates, and ensure a smooth transition for high-quality enterprises.
康体休闲区：强调全民健身国家战略，沿河设置浦江体育馆、体育中心、康养中心，围绕晓烟湖布置城市庆典广场以及临空慢行步道。以此提升体育文化的易达性，商业配套的联动性。
Recreation, Leisure and Sports Zone: Emphasize the national strategy of national fitness, set up the Pujiang Gymnasium, Sports Center, and Health Care Center along the river, and arrange the city celebration square and the slow walking trails around the Xiaoyan Lake. In this way, the accessibility of sports culture and the linkage of commercial facilities can be improved.

结语
“灯火千家夜畔长”，我们希望打造的是一个有人情味，有浦江新生活的综合服务城市中心。当人们置身于其中，归属感，亲切感，生活感迎面而来，同时未来的画卷也在眼前徐徐展开。“晓烟十里岸汀芳”，取自“十里晓烟破，数声召稼钟”，我们想营造城市感的同时也想打造生态环境；积极完成滨水空间从城市空间向自然空间的转化；“满船故梦通仓廪，一卷新风入浦江”，携带着对过去农耕文化的记忆和韵味，中国最传统的文化始终被传承和铭记，而我们展望一个全新的浦江。
We want to create an integrated service city centre with a human touch and a new life in Pujiang. When people are in the centre, they will feel a sense of belonging, a sense of intimacy and a sense of life, while the picture of the future is unfolding before their eyes. In addition, we want to create a sense of the city as well as an ecological environment; actively completing the transformation of the waterfront space from an urban space to a natural space. Carrying the memory and flavour of the farming culture of the past, China's most traditional culture has always been passed on and remembered, while we look forward to a new Pujiang.
彼时的鸣钟不止，种下悠远的上海之根；彼时的陶然少闲，成就如今的气象万千。从彼时彼处，到此时此地，新的浦江精神，新的图景画卷，再一次焕然呈现。
At that time, the bells were ringing more and more, planting the roots of Shanghai;At that time, the relaxed and chill life has made the world today.From then and there to here and now, the new Pujiang spirit and the new picture scroll are once again presented.
